How do I delete an iCloud account?

To delete an iCloud account, you must actually request the deletion of the deceased's Apple account, as iCloud is an Apple service.
To do this, you will need your own Apple ID, the deceased's Apple ID, and documents proving the death. To request account deletion, visit this page: Apple - Digital Legacy.
If you don't have the deceased's login information or an Apple ID, we recommend starting our guide to simplify the process.
Managing iCloud storage after the death of a loved one can seem complicated, but with a little help and patience, you can recover important data and close the account safely.
